5 Three of Coins (ToC) costs 7 SC.

Reading here and on reddit, people are getting approx 5-6 drops from 20-28ish ToC (let's round to 24 for giggles).

1 ToC translates to 1.4 SC (7/5). So 24 ToC will cost you 33.6 SC and possibly net you 5 engrams. That comes out to 6.72 SC per engram, a savings of 35%.

Of course, there is the time costs, and that depends on what you value your time at. If you don't mind farming for 30+ minutes, then it's a bargain. If you would rather be doing something else, then just buy an engram from Xur.

The plus side to farming the ToC, is that you can get engrams for any equip slot (not just the helmet), so you can keep them, or infuse them into something else to raise your Light level.
