Golgoroth Methods, Math FTW! *SP* (Destiny)
Easy yes, but general consensus was that the alternating Gaze was Faster.. Our first time through we alternated, and he didnt enrage. This time he did. I ran him earlier this week with an LFG group and they introduced me to this method. We managed to get him down faster at that time than last night. The 1 aggro puller process is alot simpler.
I will say this. Having only 1 designated aggro puller did make it a little tricky to pull aggro if the Ogre happened to be looking in his direction. Some back-of-the-envelope-equations will tell us that 4 down in the pit for longer should do more Damage Per Minute. I say per minute because 5 will crank out more per second, but it isn't sustained like 4 is.
Two Gazer Method:
Damage per cycle: 480,000 dmg = 4 guardians * 1000 DPS * 6 globes * 20 second gaze duration
Cycle period: 195 sec = 75 seconds to kill adds + 20 second gaze * 6 globes
Average DPS: 2462 dps
Pro: Higher overall dps
Con: more mechanically complex
One Gazer Method:
Damage per cycle: 100,000 dmg = 5 guardians * 1000 DPS * 1 globe * 20 second gaze duration
Cycle period: 95 sec = 75 seconds to kill adds + 20 second gaze * 1 globe
Average DPS: 1052 dps
Pro: "easier"
Con: takes around twice as long.I got the 75 seconds to kill adds by quickly checking a youtube video doing the 1 globe method. The 1000 DPS figure was pulled out of the shaft, and doesn't matter because it would cancel out between the two equations.
Edit: Changed the title to be less spoilerish.
We did it a third way which was smooth like butter. I guess call it the 1.5 gaze pullers method? You only pop two bubbles per phase.
Kill adds as per normal. Both gaze pullers stand on the box just left of where you enter the room. Pop the first bubble (front left). First gaze puller shoots golg in the back (easy to do from the added height of the box, even if golg is facing you) and then moves to the right so balls have a clear path to him, second puller starts shooting down 2nd bubble. Everyone else jumps down into the pit. Weapons of light between bubble 1 and where bubble 2 will drop. DPS goes nuts with snipers in Golg's belly. As gaze ends, second puller snipes Golg's back to pull gaze and then jumps to the left of the box to give balls a clear path. Gaze puller 1 jumps into the pit to help DPS. People in pit drop 2nd bubble, run through weapons of light to get to the pool, and go crazy with dps again. When this ends, everyone jumps out of the pool for phase reset. Kill adds, repeat.
It took us 2 cycles to get Golg down low enough for taken to show up. Everyone jumps out, clear as many taken as you can, do it again for the win. Very easy, very fast.
