About Crucible quests (Destiny)

So I've been very slowly working my way through the crucible quest line in the hopes of unlocking the weekly bounties before Iron Banner starts, and I've hit a bit of a brick wall. After the "win x matches in y playlist" portion of the quest, you move on to a series of quests that require you to score 6 kills with a specific primary weapon class AND win the match. Sounds simple, I know. But I'm finding it very frustrating.

Getting 6 kills with an auto rifle, I can handle. It's manageable. But when matchmaking just refuses to put me with teammates who know what they're doing, it's all for nothing. More than an hour playing this morning, and I made zero progress because of matchmaking. 3 times I got thrown on to a losing team mid-match.

I feel the crux of it is this: if a quest requires that it win games to progress, it should let me focus on winning. I've had plenty of games where I get matched with weak teammates, yet still pull off the win. But I need to be able to play the way I like to, which does not involve using an auto rifle. Instead, I feel like my effectiveness is hampered by being forced to use specific weapons. As tough as it was, I didn't mind the Last Word portion of the Chaperone quest because it was based purely on personal performance. Sure, there was a win bonus, but winning wasn't required.

Has anyone else run in to this? Am I way off on it being overly demanding? I'm sure I won't have as much trouble with the hand cannon/pulse rifle portions of the quest, but even still. It just seems to be player unfriendly.
