What is your favorite vendor bought weapon? (Destiny)

I want to be good with snipers but I need a newbie friendly sniper rifle

It's not exactly a vendor-bought weapon, but the Stillpiercer sniper rifle you can get from Banshee as a hunter works very well for me, and I don't think I'm good at PvP sniping at all. Of course, that one can only be equipped on hunters so if you play something else primarily, disregard.
