That's my number one hope. (Destiny)

I think, really, that was my main issue with Destiny. It's not even about the inconvenience of having to go to orbit, then to the Tower, then back to orbit, then to the mission (although that does suck). It just utterly breaks any sort of immersion I would have had. When I play Borderlands, I'm just in the world, doing stuff, talking to people, picking up quests, going on quests, driving around, etc. That's what I want from Destiny 2. Yeah, there has to be some give there, given that the game takes place on different planets, but I'd honestly rather see fewer planets with much bigger areas to roam with more to do.
