I personally agree with you. In a co-operative world where team work matters, and randoms have a huge influence on your gameplay I find friendly fire to be a nuisance and a way for someone to ruin the story mission I'm on.

Wouldn't you then run into a situation where players cooperate to grenade / rocket jump for 'free'? Seems like a great way to get to places you shouldn't.

On second thought, that might be awesome :-)

Sadly if it's like most games even the physics from the explosion won't affect you.
