I hate how obtuse the mechanics are in this game (Destiny)

I still don't know for certain how Level, Attack Power and Defense all interact. Compounded by the fact that weapons behave differently in PvE than in Crucible than in Iron Banner or Trials of Osiris. Then add that some stats are numbers, others are graphical bars, and yet others still are completely hidden.

It's not just us that don't understand the interaction between all these hidden numbers... Bungie employees seem to be struggling with it also. I think that's why something breaks every time they make one innocuous change.
