They specifically mention that one of the missions is to place the bounty beacons that you use later in Patrol. I think Patrol will be available after that mission. Maybe defeating Oryx in the raid gives a buff for the rest of the week that helps you puzzle-hunt in the Dreadnaught?

That would actually be a neat idea. Not sure what kind of exploration buff they could give you, but it's a great idea. Give people even more incentive for doing the raid, if the Raid gear isn't enough.
