Loot drops, cheating, and boosting

I think the appropriate solution is to have Destiny check in once per day to make sure you aren't cheating… wait… what console were we talking about?

But seriously, I would think that since Destiny is always connected, constantly talking to Bungie's servers already for matchmaking purposes that it would also know what loot you had gotten. Hopefully that will cut down or eliminate the number of cheaters. Then again I hear cheating and duplication is a big deal in other always connected games like Diablo so what do I know?
