Plot seems tertiary to puzzle solving and exploration. (Gaming)

I didn't play Braid, but this seems really light on any sort of narrative so far. You're a person on an island solving puzzles, and occasionally stumbling across Audio Logs that feature little quotes from famous scientists and philosophers. That's my impression after 5 or so hours.

Sounds pretentious.

I found a few more logs in the last couple hours.

They feel VERY pretentious, and I find the voice actors grating. I'm probably not going to listen to any more if I find them.

Maybe the end of the game will make it all fit together, but right now I feel like they detract from an otherwise wonderful experience. The puzzles and "dungeons" exude how much thought and iteration went into making them.
