For reference (Destiny)

Are there major financial issues that they need the money from Sony? They've had several paid expansions, micro transactions, and red bull tie ins. Is that not enough to get them through to Destiny 2? Or is it just the cherry on top, where Sony says "here's some free money to promote our console?"

Destiny 2 did get pushed back like a year and we've all heard the reports of issues both internally and with the engine of the game itself. Sony also helped fund Street Fighter V to make it exclusive.

Though Activision could take the hit of a year delay way better than Capcom, so I'd guess the majority of it is the advertising dollars.
