I see ABSOLUTELY NO BENEFIT in its being lower. I cannot for one minute come up with a reason why it should be lower that isn't countered with "but that makes no sense".

They need to drop the cap to 99,999 to eliminate the ambiguous "+" that makes it seem like it could be higher than 100K! That bugs me more than it probably should :p

Seriously, though, I've hit the cap and burned my glimmer down to <30K a few times already either from upgrading gear or purchasing random mods hoping for a +5 power upgrade (still not sure it's possible since I haven't had one drop yet, but I'm hoping). I definitely wouldn't want it to be any lower than 99,999.

I didn't notice you could buy mods with it, that gives it a lot more purpose already. Who's ready to find the spicy godrolls like in House of Wolves?
Also I agree on the +, it gives the sense that it's limitless, or is significantly more than the number shown.
