The reason they state makes a certain amount of sense. You just have to believe it's not complete bullshit, which I'm not actually convinced is true.

It definitely is not complete bullshit, that issue happened to me constantly on my iPhone 4 and 5 after a year of use. When I got the battery replaced the issue disappeared.
