Forsaken exotics are a lot of fun (Destiny)

I’ve had a run of great luck when it comes to drops lately, and as a result I now have every Forsaken exotic weapon. I got Black Talon from the final boss in the Whisper mission. Trinity Goul dropped from a daily bounty in the Dreaming City. And I got Cerberus +1 after a Crucible match, I believe.

I’m loving all of them. More now than any other time in Destiny, I’m swapping exotics and mixing up my load out constantly, because I’m having fun and finding great uses for so many exotics. Sleeper and Whisper are still great when I need pure, boss-melting DPS. But I find myself just as often using Malfeasance or Wish Ender while making my way through Shattered Throne, then switching to Cerberus or Trinity and laughing maniacally while I melt baddies on patrol with them, take 2-Tailed Fox into a strike and some crucible, and so on. There’s great fun, style, and variety across the board.

I’ve always looked back longingly at the D1 year 1 days of equipping Fatebringer, Black Hammer, and Gjallerhorn and using them non-stop for weeks on end. It was a blast! But I think I’m having even more fun now. There’s a great set of exotics, many of which feel deadly and hyper effective in their own ways, with no lone item standing out above all the others.

I do wish the game was a little less stingy in handing out exotics, though. It’s a shame that there are all these great weapons and so few people get the chance to use most of them.
