Yep. That's still very much an open question. Are we stripping The Traveler for our own defense or are we guarding it untouched in the hopes that it awakes?

A compromise.
We took what we could from the Traveler, but we labeled everything very carefully and keep it in a ready-to-go state. That way, if the Traveler starts waking up, we can have everything reinstalled before it can finish its first cup of coffee and wonder "Wait a sec. Where'd my battery of point-defense lasers go?"
