I think there's a bit of double-standards going on here. I'm supposed to not misinterpret overwhelmingly contrariness as meaning anything in particular, but I'm supposed to be explicit about having a joke in a thread where people are already making jokes...?

This isn't a discussion of what's fair, and even if it were, I'm not seeing a strong enough resemblance in those two situations to be drawing a very powerful point about "double standards."

I'm just telling you why everyone misinterpreted your post. Make of that what you will.

(By the way, part of the issue here is that this is not entirely a "joke thread," and your sarcasm was in response to a semi-serious suggestion. It's not like everyone here is making sarcastic comments.)
