Just like withe any online-only game, there's not much of a point in playing it before it exists in the form everyone else is going to be playing it in. Reviews are kind of weird for any kind of game like this, because it's impossible to predict what the game will be like when it's populated by clans and people are able to clear the raid on hard, and other stuff is going on in a live environment. Not that I need a review to tell me about a game I've already played, but it would also be impossible for a reviewer to effectively share their opinion on Destiny on a typical review schedule.
