Loot cave (Destiny)

I don't see why people do this. You get better results by buying gear from factions, getting free gear from factions on rep level up, the raid, and Xur.

So you farmed the cave for two hours and got a legendary? Too bad it turned blue.

Because some people are saying they're getting a legendary every 20 minutes, on top of tons of other crap with peripheral benefits.

I'm not planning on joining in on it after the time I spent today, but some people are making it sound lucrative in terms of stuff/time. And judging by what I was seeing spawn even at my low level for 15 minutes, I don't have a hard time believing that it can be a somewhat efficient activity.
