I actually saw another cheese spot on reddit that was even better than under the deck and makes this whole week seem significantly easier. Was not aware of this one:

If you don't keep stunning him like the guy in the video, he'll quickly run to the right and stay there, making it extremely difficult and slow to kill him. Under the deck or on top of the angled rock formation inside the field works better.
