Some video sampling (Destiny)
Check out this video of a guy playing voidwalker with axion bolt. Around 4:45, he scores a direct hit on a hunter with full health, and the bolt doesn't detonate immediately. It doesn't look like the hunter takes any damage.
It also occurs to me that when I'm close to that initial blast, my controller shakes. It could be that this occurs but no damage is taken, so it feels like damage is occurring because of the physical feedback from the controller, when in fact no damage is taken?
