Do you by any chance have another character that's working through the story and coming up on the Venus portion? One of those Venus missions (I believe it's the one were you go into that big fallen ship to hunt Draxis) is the only other guaranteed strange coin in the game that I'm aware of (but you only get it once per character when you finish that mission). Other than that, the best method - by far - to reliably get strange coins is to run strikes in the Tiger playlist until one of the blue engrams you get awarded decrypts to a coin.
