Exotic Armor Upgrade Math... (Destiny)

Don't know why I didn't think of this before, and perhaps others have, but here it is anyway.

If Xûr is selling a new version of an Exotic armor you own, it is cheaper to buy the new one than wait for him to carry it as an upgrade.

Numbers:

You want: New Exotic Armor, 2 Exotic Shards

Upgrade Path: Trade Old Exotic for New = 7sc. Buy Exotic Shard = 7sc. Total cost = 14sc

Buy New Path: Buy New version of Old Exotic = 13sc. Break down Old Exotic = free (gain Exotic Shard). Total cost =

If you upgrade your Old Exotic armor, it will (eventually) cost you 2 Exotic Shards; 1 to change from Old to New, and 1 to fully upgrade. This is a total cost of 14sc.

If you buy the New version of your Old Exotic it costs 13sc, but you still have your Old Exotic that you can now break down to give you an Exotic Shard, which you can then save to upgrade your New Exotic. Total cost here was only 13sc.

I thought of this because I've got a Warlock with Voidfang Vestments. Xûr isn't upgrading them this week, but he is selling them.

IMPORTANT: Just in case it wasn't obvious, this option does NOT work for Exotic Weapons, because they cost 23sc to buy, vs. 14 to convert & upgrade.
