Of course, you can still get away with doing strange stuff there, too. Red Robber, for example, does really well with Hard Light. I do inexplicably well with a Light Beware, and still do solid games using a Vanquisher, Summoner, or Suros. Of course, at the highest levels (read: Trials of Osiris) you're going to get your ass handed to you if you don't use Thorn, TLW, The Messenger, or Red Death.
