Gaming headsets for Xbox One (Gaming)

Seriously, I can't make heads or tails of this shit.

I want to get a pair of Astros (Had a pair for my 360, loved them, some unfortunate things happened and they got destroyed). Before I left the internet, Astros weren't working with the Xbox One and voice chat, something, something, I don't remember. The adapter wasn't out yet, or something.

Looking at new sets, I've heard they're not that great, drawing power directly from the controller and killing batteries and only stereo rather than surround sound. I've heard people recommend getting the original A40s with the mixamp for better sound.

Does anyone here run either setup, have any opinions, able to steer me in the right direction here?
