Since the damage on AR's will now be tied to range, being closer to an enemy will increase DPS on your AR. And if you find it easier to aim from the hip at close range, this could be pretty handy.

That said, current legendaries, especially those without elemental burn, may not be especially usefull in the new meta. If you have room, you could consider keeping it if you like the way it looks, but I wouldn't expect it to be very effective in PvE in the future. It might be handy for PvP though?

His has perks that benefit both short and long range (Rangefinder), so it's one of those "you can't lose" rolls. I'd keep it as is.
