Any weapon that doesn't get more powerful with TTK will still be just as powerful on all current content. So if you do a random strike after TTK, chances are you'll still have a good time using Gjallarhorn. If you get dropped into a TTK strike though, you might feel like Gjallarhorn is slightly under powered.

Right, which is why I believe dogcow used the phrase "left behind." They aren't losing power, but with a third less power than the Year 2 exotics they will be left behind once you are able to use the Year 2 versions.
