Can we talk about the nightfall rewards for a moment? (Destiny)

The idea is that since you can't reforge the guns, whatever you might get from the nightfall might be a really good roll, and then you can infuse it up. Unfortunately, since they have, in my opinion, taken away all the really good perks, and nerfed the other ones into oblivion, there isn't a really substantial difference between any two guns.
