both of the alternate daily mission endings that we've seen so far are way beyond anything I would stumble across myself.

Totally! Even if I did play the Daily Story on those particular day (which I don't think I ever have!), I never knew about the hidden ghosts or never would have thought to go "the wrong way" back to the taniks strike.

Balancing secret content with Reddit's All Info All the Time is a problem I don't have a solution for.
