Balancing secret content with Reddit's All Info All the Time is a problem I don't have a solution for.

You might be able to do it by having tiers of hidden content: easy, medium, and hard. Hard is meant to be solved collectively, while the rest can be solved by someone who doesn't read reddit.

The problem is the connected nature of the game. None of this is a problem with traditional games, because you can just not read spoilers. If Destiny had no matchmaking and you had to play with your real life friends, it could have the cake and eat it too.
