Does your chat work normally using the Xbox headset? Or does neither headset work?

If neither headset works with either controller, then I'd contact Microsoft hardware repair and get ready to ship them your console.

Yeah, this is where we are, I'm afraid. It's been so hit and miss all along that I've been reluctant to think that it's really broken for good. I had high hopes for this software update.
