I dare you to read these all at once.
Over the past several days, our forums have been a hotbed of discussion and activity... but much of this content hasn't made the front page. At the risk of overwhelming you with a flood of information, I'm going to attempt to dump ALL of the recent links we've missed at one time. Whee! (At least they're slightly organized, in terms of what they're about.)
Visual Comparison videos:
Fan-made images and videos:
- Trunks has Moon Exploration, the whole Moon mission, a speedrun of the Dark Within, and getting into the Summoning Pit on The Moon
- redditor sirNanoFusion discovered some weird glitching in the water (thanks, petetheduck)
- Guardian Radio did an hour-long broadcast from the Moon, also on YouTube if you don't like Twitch - thanks, petetheduck
- Chris101b and friends explored the Moon - there are pics and vids of areas that you may not have seen before
- l_H4RDC0R3_l posted a minitage - those knife kills! (He's also quite a bit better with that sniper rifle than most I've seen.) The original link in the forum post doesn't work - but this one does.
- Narcogen and friends have posted a series of Destiny Co-Op vids in their Anger, Sadness, Envy line - Restoration, The Dark Within, Warmind, and The Last Array are all up.
- Lediandol posted 'Newcomer', a Halo 4/Destiny mashup. Grim was in tears.
- CrazedOne and friends climbed in the rafters.
- Eurogamer posted a Destiny Weather Report (thanks, DaDerga)
- Tom Finlayson also got into the Summoning Pit (thanks, petetheduck)
- FWCReddit discovered that your Ghost can open Hive doors (awesome!) - thanks, petetheduck
- A bunch of DBOers grabbed Pikes from Fallen Dregs and cruised. So much fun - thanks, Paddy.
Articles with info of interest to anticipating fans:
- A story at Polygon suggests that the 'limited' nature of the Ghost Edition might really be limited - Walmart has been cancelling preorders due to supply issues. Whoa. Thanks, kidtsunami.
- Urk answered some fan rumor-mongering over at NeoGAF (thanks, Blue_Blazer_NZ)
- The Destiny Beta saw 4.6 million players over its short duration (articles at Eurogamer (thanks, DaDerga) and IGN (thanks, petetheduck).
- Two new books are available for pre-order on Amazon - The Art of Destiny (December 16), and Destiny: The Poster Collection (October 14). Thanks to Xenos for the links!
- GamesBeat has a piece talking about a followup analysis from Cowen Research - in June, they predicted 10-15 million copies sold - one month later (after the Beta), they've upped it to 15-20 million. That's a lot of boxes.
- VG247 discusses the Golden Chests that were available in the Beta (if you found all 5, you got an upgraded Sparrow) and speculates that the mechanism might continue in the game (beyond that one prize).
- Eurogamer looked back on Halo 3: ODST to see the origins of some of the inspirations for Destiny
- IGN sat down with Sage Merrill to see what a Level 29 Titan can do... mostly, it's just a taste of some of the upgrades that will be available. (Thanks, Xenos.)
