We're excited to share an in-depth look at what's ahead with The Final Shape and the next Season of planned festivities, but there's no harm in sharing a little sneak peek, is there? From Twitch Drops to a quick glimpse at what's next, let's dig into the latest This Week In Destiny.
But first, let's recap what we chatted about in last week's TWID:
For this week, we'll be diving into:
Last week devastating wildfires fueled by hurricane force winds struck Hawaii, leaving a path of destruction unheard of in its wake across Maui and the Island of Hawaii. The historic town of Lahaina has been reduced to ashes with over100 lives lost, many more still unaccounted for, thousands made homeless, and countless pieces of cherished history and culture erased overnight. Our hearts go out to all the communities, individuals, and loved ones affected by this tragedy.
Beginning today, the Bungie Foundation is launching a fundraising campaign to directly support the relief and recovery efforts across Hawaii. All funds raised will go directly to our long-time partner Direct Relief, who is already delivering lifesaving emergency medical kits and aiding in search and rescue operations.
Guardians can support this mission by purchasing a specially designed T-shirt made in collaboration with Asians@Bungie (one of our employee-led Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity Associations) and a local artist from Oʻahu, Brady Evans. All profits will go to Direct Relief. This shirt features a Ghost set against the backdrop of Mauna Kahālāwai (West Maui Mountains) projecting a hologram of Maui. Surrounding the hologram is a Tti leaf (lāʻī) lei adorned with 'aʻaliʻi flowers. The lei is a common symbol of respect, love, and aloha with the lāʻī traditionally used to ward off bad spirits, cleanse, bless, and heal people. The ʻaʻaliʻi is an indigenous plant to Hawaii whose seeds can endure fire and are some of the first plants to grow back in burned areas. Below the design, the words "Mālama Maui" can be seen, meaning "Take Care, Maui" in Hawaiian.
Each shirt purchased also includes a code for the Kūlike Kākou emblem (Hawaiian for "Stand Together"), newly created to show support in-game for all those impacted by this tragedy. Emblems will be delivered via email after September 5, 2023.
Head to the link here to get your T-shirt and emblem.
While this portal might not have cake with a questionable existence, we have a feeling that this one offers an adventure that Guardians won't want to miss. A small teaser, as a treat, before the big Showcase on August 22. Are you ready?

"All endings are beginnings." As we inch closer to the conclusion of the epic Light and Darkness saga that we've been immersed in through the years, here is a look back at the story thus far and the Guardians that have made the Destiny community feel like home. From saying farewell to beloved characters to digging deep within ourselves to find the strength we never knew was there, venture into the history of Destiny and prepare for what lies ahead with this new Epic Moments trailer.
Also, say "hi" to Immaru for us:
With Season 22 right there on the horizon and the Showcase we've got lined up for next week, we wanted to do a quick TLDR of some of the changes that we've previously talked about, in case you might want a little helpful recap.
Cayde-6 stole our hearts in the original Destiny and then crushed our souls later in Destiny 2 with his flourished exit stage left during the Forsaken expansion. Now that our sassy hero is seen onscreen once more, we want to hear your favorite memories of the Tower's resident funny guy.
Dig deep into that nostalgia, friends, and share some of your favorite Cayde-6 moments n the journey leading up to The Final Shape. Was there something you loved to hear 'ol Cayde talk about? A favorite quote? How about some creative cosplay or Cayde fanart that would make Ace proud? Share it all by tagging official Bungie channels and the @Destiny2Team account! We'll always take an excuse to rave about the man that has a motto we can all get behind; I mean, if an Exo says, "Do it for the puppies," you do it for the dang puppies, OK?
Oh! Before you move on into some weapons talk, just one last question... you know, for Cayde: "How's your sister?"
Okay, now we can move on...
If you haven't seen our Dev Insights: Season 22 Weapons Preview yet, you're definitely going to want to check that out. It's 6,000 words of detailed info on what weapons philosophy going into the next Season and beyond. From overall balance changes to weapon stats—and even a reflection on the Mid-Season balance pass from earlier this year—you can see everything coming down the pipeline with your pew-pew arsenal right here.
Another detail you'll note coming in Season 22 is a new Special Deliveries Kiosk located in the Tower. This new addition is an easy-to-access vendor that players can interact with when chatting up Master Rahool and Banshee-44.
Deliveries you can expect to snag from this vendor include rewards like Bungie Foundation incentives and Twitch Drops, Bungie Rewards, Digital Deluxe and Collector's Edition loot, Secret Stash items, preorder bonuses, and more.
We're almost at the end of the Season, which means there's a limited amount of time to run through anything you may need to wrap up before we arrive at the next part of the Destiny 2 story. Just like usual, reputation gains are active for rituals all week. If you need a little help, just picture Shaxx yelling victoriously in your ear. Works every time.
Starting on August 22, 2023, we will be making routine territory-specific pricing adjustments due to foreign exchange rate fluctuations and regional discrepancies. These evaluations typically happen each year to account for variances in economic conditions across multiple regions.
While USD currency will not be affected by these adjustments, other currencies (ARS, INR, KWD, KZT, PHP, TRY, VND, and others) will see increases or decreases of varying degrees in pricing for Silver packs, catalog expansions, and new expansion sales, with the aim of balancing pricing fairly across all territories.
Much of this update will focus on aligning to industry standards around currencies impacted by inflation and other regional considerations. Please note that regional pricing adjustments specific to Silver packs and catalog expansions will begin rolling out on September 6, 2023.
We're coming down to the final stretch for this Season. As we prep for Season 22 on the horizon, here's the latest info drop from the fine folks over on Player Support.
This is their report.

Hippy: That's metal m/... literally. If you're like us and a sucker for a good cover and have an affinity for all things heavy metal, then Javier Sardinas' Oneirophobia metal cover of the Lightfall OST is for you. Hop in the pit (in your mind) and go wild, because this is a stellar listen. And oddly relaxing. Metal is funny like that.
Movie of the Week: Oneirophobia, but make it metal.
Sam: Sometimes you have to dress in bright pink and dance the night away with your friends, and that's just what these Guardians did.
Ivan: Our community always surprises us with how quickly they are to show their support and love for the Destiny universe. This #Destiny2AOTW is a perfect example of that exact support. News of Keith David joining the Destiny family only recently broke, but it didn't take long before artists worldwide combined their efforts to welcome him in with open arms while paying tribute to Lance Reddick, the man that paved the way for Zavala's incredible story through the years. What an amazing piece and tribute!

Timon: This is so cute! The lonely Guardian waiting for the fishies to bite. Can´t get enough of the fishing art, so keep them coming!

And that's a wrap on our latest TWID. Just a few more sleeps before the Destiny 2 Showcase action and a look at what's next with The Final Shape expansion and the upcoming Season. Not to give any spoilers, but Season 22 will definitely help you get into the spooky spirit. You'll see what we mean on August 22.
Just your usual reminder to make sure you're drinking that water, prioritizing that self-care, and always leading with your kindest foot forward. See you on August 22, friends.
"I should go,"
