This week in Destiny, we're talking about wishes! After the glimmering return of the TWID last week, we wanted to keep the good vibes rolling by giving you all the fun details and goodies you can expect from Riven's Wishes and Moments of Triumph. So, let's get into it.

Riven's Wishes will offer new quests for six weeks, but you'll have time to complete them and earn rewards up through The Final Shape's release. Get all that your heart desires, o Guardian mine.
On January 30, Moments of Triumph returns with a collection of 30 challenges, celebrating everything you've been able to achieve this past year. If you've been active, you'll likely already have some of these completed, which just gets you closer to getting the 26 you'll need to earn the MMXXIII title. Along the way, you'll also earn some event rewards, including the new Laurel Shell for your Ghost, the Fire-Gilt Quadriga Sparrow, and access to purchase the 2023 Moments of Triumph shirt.
You can earn these rewards by completing the following:
Triumphs | Rewards |
---|---|
5 | Access to purchase 2023 Moments of Triumph shirt |
14 | Laurel Shell |
21 | Fire-Gilt Quadriga |
26 | MMXXIII Seal and title and access to purchase the MMXXIII title pin |
In addition to the shirt and pin, players can earn access to purchase a 2023 Moments of Triumph patch by completing the Paracausal Adventurer Triumph.
Ah, to be the White Wolf and hunt monsters for a living, sword in hand, cutting down those smelly ghouls like they are nothing. Or Thralls, if you are on the Moon. Sounds cool, eh? Perfect, because we have a bit of a pest problem around here, and Geralt is not available for hire at the moment. That means this bounty is all yours, Guardians.
As a community, you just have to take down 7,777,777 enemies with Swords. And while we can't pay you in coin, we have something better. How about we make the long-rumored Adventurous Spirit emblem available to all Guardians, once you're done? It's a relic of a different time, never available to earn... until now.
If you're ready, we'll start keeping tally at 12 PM PST today. Take your favorite Sword out and start working on it. Just be careful not to Eager Edge into too many sharp corners. And please leave Shuro Chi alone... (you won't). We'll be in touch with emblem claiming instructions once the deed is done.
Last week, we asked you to help us choose which armor we'll feature during this year's Festival of the Lost. Our theme this year is wizards. And because it can't just be any wizards, we asked you to choose between evil and good wizards.
Well, the community has spoken, and we now have the definitive answer on which classes are evil and which are good. (Did we really need a vote?)
It's a new year, and we're starting it off right by launching the fifth edition of the Bungie Foundation's annual charity event, Game2Give. The incredible outpouring of support from the community has already smashed all previous campaign records, raising over $2,000,000 in less than a week! We want to send an enormous thank you to everyone who has donated and helped fundraise to further the Bungie Foundation's mission and its impact across the globe.
The fun continues next week as the official Game2Give livestream returns with some very special guests, including Todd Haberkorn—yes, Drifter himself—live on set. The stream goes live on Thursday, February 1, at 10 AM PST on the Bungie Foundation's new Twitch channel. Head over and follow the channel now! You don't want to miss out on all the prizes and fun.
Oh! We almost forgot to mention: Twitch Drops will be active for the never-before released Traveler's Wish emblem, too!
Game2Give will continue through February 4. You can show your support through donations or fundraising with your community. As a reminder, we are offering our largest set of rewards ever, with a wide range of goodies you can earn, including:
This year we are also working with Mexican artists Jesús Ramos Sol's "El Capitán Copete", Mar'a Sarmiento, and the founder of Wixárika Arte Huichol, Miguel Ángel Castillo, who have hand crafted three unique, one-of-a-kind Ghost Shells that unite Destiny 2 and traditional Mexican art.
These exclusive works of art will be auctioned to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Mexico. The auction is currently live and will end on January 28 at 4 PM PST during a livestream hosted by Epii06, Alyssa Chambers, and ElTioToland. You can find more info at https://givebutter.com/c/g2g-ghost/auction.
It's time to join forces, Guardians. We hope we can count on your support in spreading the word. Visit Game2Give.com for more information.
In next week's update, we will be adding Ascendant Alloys as a new weekly reward to the Competitive playlist. Upon completing the weekly challenge for the Seasonal weapon, a second challenge will unlock, offering an Ascendant Alloy as a reward for completing three additional matches. Additionally, the first challenge of the Season (completing the seven placement matches) will also reward an Ascendant Alloy.
Iron Banner has returned, and we've added more options to how you can play. This week, players can choose between Fortress mode and Control mode. So, for those of you looking to grab the Tributary emblem, or maybe gild your Iron Lord title, you'll be able to play whichever way you prefer.
Good? Evil? I'm more of a chaotic-neutral Warlock.

The Game2Give charity event will run until February 4, 2024, at 11:59 PM PST. For more information, read through the Bungie Foundation Help Center and FAQs.UPDATED TEXT CHAT FILTERING
Late last year, we began implementing multiple significant improvements to text-chat language filtering. Players can learn more about these improvements and updates in our Text-based Language Filtering FAQ.
Users may find that their in-game "Allow Profanity" settings are temporarily affected by the filters in ways they might not expect, like allowing more or less language through than they did previously. We are working to mitigate this behavior in future updates.
Additionally, players who encounter unexpected filter behavior are encouraged to report it via our feedback and contact form.KNOWN ISSUES
While we continue investigating various known issues, here is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #Help forum.
- Totem spawns in the Warlord's Ruin dungeon are sometimes inconsistent.
- The Winter's Guile Exotic uses the term "encased" instead of "frozen" in the perk description.
- Reprised Dreaming City weapons do not count toward the Cursebreaker title progress.
- Players are being granted incorrect Triumphs after acquiring ritual ornaments for the Chivalric Fire Sword.
For a full list of emergent issues in Destiny 2, players can review our Known Issues article. Players who observe other issues should report them to our #Help forum.
Movie of the Week: What kind of food would Saladin cook in a campfire while telling stories about Ahamkaras? We bet he has a secret whim for crunchy marshmallows...
Art of the Week: Night vision goggles? Yeah. Cool new Exotic Bow for silent takedowns? Yup. Using the power of Strand to keep yourself out of floors covered with traps? I mean, look at this amazing piece of art and tell us what this Hunter couldn't break into.
And that's it for this week. We hope you have fun with Riven's Wishes and get something nice for yourself. Maybe work towards that Apex Predator pattern if you don't have it—or if you do, then grab a shiny Dawning Memento to kick it up a notch. You've worked hard. You deserve it.
We'll be back next week with more updates, but until then, be good to each other and thanks for hanging out with us!
