This Week in Destiny, we're ramping up to our next dungeon race and giving you all a deep dive into the new system called Vanguard Alerts.
Let's dive in.
Once again, we're partnering with Evanf1997 and CbGray to host the Equilibrium Dungeon Race. They will be hosting on the Bungie Twitch Channel with some exclusive interviews, giveaways, and more before the race opens up at 9 AM PT (UTC -8).
With the Equilibrium Dungeon Race approaching, we want to make sure players are aware of our updated streaming guidelines required to qualify for World First, which we first implemented in The Desert Perpetual Epic Raid Race. To reiterate:
Want to tune into the action live? Tune in to the official broadcasts here or stop by any of our partnered co-streams that will be announced closer to the event.
Hey there, Guardians! Engagement Team here with a new feature aimed at reigniting a Destiny 2 ritual. Say hello to Vanguard Alerts, coming in Week 2 of Renegades.
Vanguard Alerts allow you and your fireteam to complete a range of activities available to players at all skill levels for rewards that will help you progress in the game. Activities include different playlists, our new Grandmaster Vanguard Alert, and The Desert Perpetual raid as well as the upcoming Renegades dungeon.
Vanguard Alerts should feel similar to the Vanguard Ops playlist and Grandmaster Nightfalls of old. The goal was to bring back the feeling of logging into Destiny 2 for the week and immediately knowing what activities to start with to get you and your fireteam that good loot, giving you an opportunity to have fun while building up to harder activities.
To complete Vanguard Alerts, open the Seasonal Hub and go to the new Vanguard Alerts tab. You can view the playlists and activities for the week, see the rewards, and view the activity challenges. They rotate weekly, so every week should feel like a new challenge is awaiting you and your friends.
These playlists contain a set of activities including the new six-player PvE Arena Ops that are fast, uncomplicated to complete, and have pre-set modifiers. These are best for players that just want to relax and play some PvE while still earning great rewards.
These are more difficult activities where you and your fireteam can test your mettle (and your newly acquired rewards and Power level). Rotating weekly, Grandmaster Vanguard Alerts should take slightly longer and offer greater rewards for your time and effort, as they are harder than the usual Grandmaster difficulty you found elsewhere in the Portal. Think of them as the Grandmaster Nightfalls of old.
We included dungeons and raids in Vanguard Alerts to give you easy access to these activities. The Renegades dungeon and The Desert Perpetual raid have weekly challenges that grant rewards from their correspondent reward pools.
We want Vanguard Alerts to be a place where you start your week in Destiny 2, so its rewards have been designed to accommodate that.
We are working on further improvements for Vanguard Alerts that we will share as soon as possible. In the meantime, we can share that we are looking into adding legacy content including raids and dungeons to the weekly rotation and finding a permanent location for Vanguard Alerts in the Portal as well as exploring expanding the activity and reward offerings in a future update.
The version launching in the next few weeks is a foundation and we want your help to determine what to build up next. Use #VanguardAlerts on Twitter/X and Bluesky to share your thoughts on the following:
We look forward to hearing from you about Vanguard Alerts and we hope you find them a valuable way to start your week playing Destiny 2.
We appreciate the constructive feedback you've been sharing in the day since Call to Arms started. The team has been working to address the pain points that players are experiencing.
We've deployed the following changes and fixes as a live update:
More improvements are planned for upcoming live updates:
The team is also actively investigating other friction points players have reported:
Be sure to claim your Daily Shipment of gear from Devrim in the Tower! Earning Competitor Points in Call to Arms activities will increase how many rewards you receive.
It's that time once again Guardians, the Bungie Bounty for Good is back. We're switching things up and hosting the bounty on a MONDAY, so get your Fireteam locked in now as this will be your final TWID reminder before we queue up for the Crucible on 11/17 starting at 12 PM PT (UTC -8).
Throughout November, we are recognizing Veterans and Military Families Month, and this bounty will be in support of two amazing non-profits that harness the power of gaming to uplift these communities: Stack Up and Gold Star Gamers. Two top-tier organizations answering the call in support of veterans and military families that we couldn't be prouder to back the mission of.
Joining our foundation squad are two Lightkeepers with strong military ties: Snaevo, an Air Force veteran and member of the Colorado National Air Guard and Atlas, a Guardian who grew up on military bases across the world and comes from a long line of military service dating back to the Revolutionary War.
Reminder on how the Bungie Bounty for Good works: match the Bungie Foundation team in the Crucible during the bounty window, emerge victorious and earn the Faster Than Light emblem! We'll be splitting time between a west coast and Mountain time zone host. Tune-in 11/17 at 12PM PT to catch all of the action on The Bungie Foundation Twitch Channel, we'll see you in the Crucible next week!
Known Issues List | Help Forums | Destiny 2 Team BlueskyKnown Issues List
- Player characters that still have the Testament of Strength quest from Iron Banner are unable to progress the Armament Protocol quest to fully unlock Call to Arms.
- The high scores for Crucible: Zone Control are not updating again after players have posted an initial score.
- Some Xbox players are reporting game performance issues when inspecting or using holofoil variants of Ribbontail.
- The Coil activity is not giving players additional revive tokens, causing it to be more difficult to complete than intended.
- Combatants protected by shield drones do not always lose their immunity after all drones have been destroyed. As a potential workaround, some players have reported that hitting these enemies with Supers may kill them through their immunity, though this has not been directly confirmed.
- Tier 5 Call to Arms weapons can drop with a visual issue causing them to incorrectly display as a Tier 6 weapon. These drops will be corrected to display their intended Tier 5 state in a future update.
This Wplace artpiece is stunning, and the lack of complex tools to create such a thing is even more impressive.
With a little bit of ingenuity, and a sprinkle of... chauffeuring? You can truly achieve anything. Including making a Guardian-ran elevator, apparently.
Another week has passed, and we've got a lot of exciting stuff coming up ahead of and following Renegades' launch in December. We'll continue to keep everyone updated on the upcoming dungeon race, and there some new SBX armor tuning updates we're excited to share with you all!
We hope you continue enjoying Call to Arms, start getting your fireteams together for the dungeon race, and are excited for what's next to come for Destiny 2.
