It appears to be time based. If people get down there ASAP, adds are almost no issue at all. After that, more show up. Now, if you have a bunch of dudes who're coordinated and can successfully grab the gaze in order while also shooting adds who spawn in the hole, then that's something else.

It just seems ever so slightly easier to do it second. The fact is, I'm sure it's easy as butts no matter by what method it's done.
