Seems like the best idea is to ball swap after you shoot. This minimizes the adds down there, which often kill people.

i thought the more you swapped, the more adds you got in the pit? therefore, it would be best to do your damage to Golg on the first gazer. assign someone to leave the pool of light early to get into position to swap the gaze. Then just swap the gaze back and forth until everyone has done it, wait for the orbs to respawn, then go again.
