Increase Zoom experience from last night. (Destiny)

Last night, for fun, I ran with Patience and Time, and even with Custom Optics, the zoom is much more zoomed in than Ambush (x5 zoom for P&T, x4.5 for Ambush). It made sniping quite a bit more difficult as I was finding some lines I have gotten used to sniping to be too short to aim comfortably.
That being said, for quite some time in the TTK I only had a Tao Hua Yuan with a Tacsys scope on it, and I actually shot very well with that. Just takes time getting used to the scope.
I'd be willing to try a zoom increase for all snipers except No Land Beyond. Iron sights shouldn't zoom at all.
