Snipers and ADS (Destiny)

In Halo, when you got shot it took you out of zoom if you had a sniper.

Why is this not the case in Destiny?

More and more I am seeing snipers being used as midrange weapons, where even while being pummeled with auto rifle fire, the sniper still manages to headshot an opponent.

Snipers are supposed to be precision weapons, with a risk because they give you a one hit kill. So why don't they work the same way as in Halo? It's strange when you actually think about it.

It's not strange at all. Destiny is a much faster, vertical, and fluid game than Halo. Getting knocked out of zoom worked in Halo because of the general stability of weapons, and the slow movement of targets, combined with the fact that the zoom was a click of the thumbstick. When against precision weapons, it helps level the battlefield, since the other weapons are difficult to use to kill at range, and it gives you a chance. It's far easier to miss in Destiny, and if you were knocked out of ADS every time an Auto Rifle round plinked against your armor, it would be nigh impossible to hit anybody once you were engaged. As it stands, High Caliber rounds exist for a reason, and they counter Snipers very well (which in turn is countered by Unflinching).

I'd be all for adding a bit more recoil per shot, or more random bouncing when shot (as it stands, I can usually compensate while I'm being hit and land body shots, since I know how the flinching behaves). Heck, I'd even be in favor of a bit more zoom in Snipers (it would add value to the rare Holo sight, the Yasmin, and No Land Beyond)...

On a related note, Halo 5 tries to be like Destiny, but thanks to negative feedback in Halo 4, they brought back the de-scoping when hit, which is extremely annoying, since you're left holding down the trigger, but not scoping in. Unfortunately, non-precision weapons also get knocked out of ADS, which makes far less sense (heck, you can technically ADS with the Sword, and that gets knocked out as well...

Imagine if every time you got hit by an Auto Rifle, your Hand Cannon went to hip-fire. It's that frustrating (but as I said, it's easier to land shots while hip-firing in Halo).
