I remember losing the model M we had when I was a kid and getting a Dell Quietkey and not minding much. I didn't care for decades until I used a Model M again, then used some Cherry switches. The difference was so night and day, I couldn't believe I didn't care earlier.

If I ever build a desktop, I'll definitely look into it. But right now my only computer is my Surface, and I don't even have a desk, so a mechanical keyboard would be useless.
