It's fun to have the gun.
More importantly, this is a great way to build up materials. Tons of glimmer, weapon parts, armor materials, legendary marks, and infusion fuel. Plus you can get all of you primaries to 335 very easily.
It's definitely great for materials and infusion fodder :)
