That would help, but just barely. When the main quest step turns into “Do these three other things,” and those other things are distinct quest items, and the main quest step doesn’t even give you any specifics, you’ll still be spending lots of time scanning your quest log looking for the thing you need to do.

I love that the main quest line isn’t just story missions and has those steps, but they have got to do something better in regards to tracking those things and making it clear what you have to do.
