I cannot for the LIFE of me understand why they didn't just let this one play out. Take the loss ("our bad, it's bugged, go wild") and bask in the happy Destiny feelings.

It's so inconsistent. When Prometheus Lens turned every Crucible match into laser tag, they actively encouraged it by having Xur sell the damn thing and eventually created an emblem to mark the occasion.

And you're absolutely right, the glitch didn't make the Nightfall a cakewalk.
