Yeah, I'm wondering if there is some reason for arming present day astronauts that we'll find out or if that is some weird bleeding of "yeah we make great shooters" into the backstory.

Anyways, seeing astronauts with guns bums me out.

Hey, if those moon rovers in Armageddon hadn't had miniguns then Ben Affleck would still be stuck on that asteroid.
