Clan recruitment (Destiny)

Recruiting for clans is not taken seriously in Destiny because clans are not taken seriously.

How do you know that? Maybe clans play a huge role in completing certain activities like the RAID.

We've got precious little information about how raids work yet, but if they have very hard encounters and significantly better loot than strikes it stands to reason that you'll need an organised group to do them, and that organised group will want the rewards that go along with it. Clans would definitely come into their own there.
