I was never blessed with a Fatebringer unfortunately, so I had a VoC, Murmur (new fusion rifle), and an almost maxed arc Deviant Gravity. The MG would tear through most baddies, but I could never even enter the final boss room. I'm also still super conservative about using ammo synth for whatever reason. We'd duck in and out from the entrance and then jump above to dodge the thralls if we needed to. It was probably a bit too conservative, but I just didn't want to wipe and have to get through the whole thing again!

I was never able to put good damage on that crappy knight you mentioned easily, so we just let him be for the entire fight :)
