As CruelLegacey pointed out in this other thread, I confirmed last night that Fatebringer can one-shot goblins in the hard-mode Vault -- if you have explosive rounds on (and I still don't understand why you wouldn't!). When you hit the goblin/hobgoblin in the stomach, it does 1004 critical damage, plus 1004 from the explosive round's area damage. (Without explosive rounds on, it does 1500 damage - not quite enough to kill them.) This also kills Fanatics in one shot by the way (although they seem to be harder to reliably hit with a critical on that first shot all the time).
