Ruinous hard mode trick, do not read unless absolutely stuck (Destiny)

Reddit reporting Crota's End checkpoints are difficulty neutral. As in, you can change difficulty without losing progress.

Can't get past Abyss? Run it on normal. Once you've got the bridge checkpoint, orbit, select hard mode, you'll be back at the bridge but on hard mode.
