Disciple figured out what I meant, but I was not referring to the checkpoint for D.M. spawn being further down the trail than where it spawns you (though, I suppose it could be a bug) but the inability to reset it and so we have been completing the mission as the only way to reset the mission.

I believe the checkpoint on that level is actually before the spot where the Divisive Mind spawns. The thing is that when you load up that level from said checkpoint, DM doesn't spawn. I've always though this was an intentional design decision on Bungie's part - because the checkpoint is actually RIGHT before DM, having him not spawn means people can't just keep a checkpoint saved there for when the bounty comes up.

(Never mind that this is what we all do with The Dark Beyond for about 5 or 6 other bounties, LOL).

The real problem with the Black Garden checkpoint thing is that because the UI makes NO mention of how to actually reset progress, many people have resorted to finishing out the level and THEN doing it over again. This is either a design mistake (they didn't think to put an explanation in the UI) or a bug (they did think to do so, but something prevents it from appearing). I have no clue which is the case, but it needs fixing.
