Honestly, if it bugs you a lot, the best bet would be to (carefully) take apart the controller and clean the parts with WD40, and possible even lube up the components of the button. I'm sure you could probably find guides on taking it apart, and possibly even on cleaning it.

You're not the first one to give me this advice, so I guess it's more than time for to take it. :) I'm very finicky about breaking stuff, though.
