I finally cracked after years of fighting it. (Destiny)

I broke down. I caved in. Frustration became too great.

I switched to bumper jumper. Not because I wanted to. But because the lack of coexistence between jumping and aiming became too frustrating.

In the past, I would grit my teeth at this sort of nuisance. Halo CE was a big adjustment from previous shooters, but I slogged through that nightmare the first time I whiffed on a melee, and I learned to bash faces without being able to turn my head. When the 360 bumpers entered the equation, I adjusted again. Relearning controls was only a minor inconvenience; more buttons was sometimes welcome, depending on their orientation.

CE is the only Halo that I played with Default controls, and even in the MCC I still switched to the original settings. Every other Halo after that has been set to Boxer, because it just makes too much sense (even Halo 4, which delegated Sprint to B ultimately felt natural).

If Goldeneye taught me anything, it was that the default controls are never optimized. In many games I've played, full customization was essential to said optimization of controller-interface. Bumper Jumper is only a half step; crouching is important too, and I dislike that I will now have to remove my right opposable digit from its thumbstick if I'm to attempt a sick shotgun slide.

Im surprised that "Puppeteer" is not Destiny's default scheme. The simple switch between "inspect" and "crouch" is a game changer, IMO. Crouch with right click, Battlefield style.

I've bitten my tongue as long as I could. Damnit, men and women of Bungie. Give us real customization for our goddamn button layouts.

Great news! You can remap your entire control scheme button by button on the PS4!
... Assuming, you know...
